Congratulations to Alicia Woolacott — Our Newest Qualified Tap Dance Teacher!
We are thrilled to share some exciting news from La Tragna Dance Academy — Alicia Woolacott has officially qualified as a UKA Dance Teaching Associate in Tap Dancing!
Alicia has been part of our LDA family since she was very young, growing up through the grades, performances, and countless memories made along the way. Today, she takes a wonderful new step forward, not just as a dancer, but now as a teacher who can inspire and nurture the next generation.
"I have just finished my associate teaching exam and I couldn't be prouder to be able to achieve this! I would definitely recommend going down the teaching route, even if you are a little nervous about it. You get to show off and practice your dance skills by modelling and using your creativity to create dances the children will enjoy. I'm thoroughly excited to start this new journey of my dance teaching!"

As a fully accredited UKA Associate, Alicia is qualified to teach Tap Dance up to Grade 5 level. This prestigious accreditation is awarded by UKA Dance, one of the UK's leading dance examination boards, and is achieved through rigorous training and assessment. Candidates must demonstrate strong technical knowledge, teaching ability, safe dance practices, and creative choreography skills, among many other important qualities.
At La Tragna Dance Academy, tap dancing is one of our most popular and exciting subjects. We offer a fun, energetic environment where students of all ages can explore the rhythms, beats, and musicality that make tap so unique. Our tap classes follow the UKA syllabus, providing students with a structured path of progression from beginner to advanced levels. Whether it's learning simple shuffles or mastering complex choreography, our students gain confidence, precision, and a deep sense of timing and rhythm. Regular performance opportunities, examinations, and the chance to develop their own creative routines make tap at LDA a vibrant and rewarding journey.
We couldn't be more proud of Alicia. Her dedication, talent, and passion for dance shine through in everything she does. Now, as a teacher, she will be able to pass on that spark to her students, encouraging them to love tap as much as she does.
Congratulations again, Alicia! We can't wait to see you light up the studio not just as a dancer, but as an inspiring new teacher at La Tragna Dance Academy.
